Online daters 'better acquainted' than blind daters
Online dating is the new blind dating, a relationship counsellor has claimed.According to Denise Knowles from Relate, couples who meet online and arrange to go on a date could have more chance of hitting it off with as they know more about each other than those who go on blind dates.
"It's not always going to be just about appearance and not knowing about each other.
"Sometimes people say to me that they feel as though they know the person better than if they'd just been on a blind date."
Research by Parship found that over half (52 per cent) of single men and 48 per cent of single women in the UK have used the internet over the last 12 months to find a date.
Meanwhile, 53 per cent of singles - comprising 59 per cent of men and 46 per cent of women - claim they intend to use the internet to meet someone in the future.
