Stand up comedy in Soho: A hilarious first date!

Anyone looking to follow up on a speed dating connection may wish to check out Andrew Maxwell's show starting on June 30th at the Soho Theatre.

There may be few better ways to break the ice than to enjoy an evening of entertainment with your speed dating partner or someone found dating online than the Irish Post Comedian of the Year's new show, Waxin'.

Maxwell has played the Soho theatre in previous years and is set to spend another week regaling roaring audiences with his tales of social misadventure.

While a slightly unorthodox first date, it promises to be a memorable one particularly for a young hip couple.

Scotland on Sunday described the show as: "Consistently funny – the Irishman is on top form, mining comedy diamonds from his autobiographical adventure."

A poll by the BBC found that nearly 50 per cent of women and a high number of men said that a sense of humour was the most important thing on a first date.
