What NOT do at the Office Party
Saturday, December 18th, 2010With Christmas almost upon us, many companies will have their office parties.

Here’s our advice on making sure you don’t do anything stupid!
1) Watch the booze. Many parties will have free flowing alcohol, but remember who is watching. It’s fine to let your hair down and enjoy yourself but be aware of your limits. It’s all too easy to overstep to mark and end up doing something you might regret for the next year.
2) Mad dancing is not cool. You’ve only got to think of David Brent to realise that your colleagues will laughing at you rather than with you!
3) An office party is not a singles event. After a few drinks your colleagues will naturally begin to look more attractive but this will fade next morningwhen you remember what you’ve done. If you want a singles party at Christmas, you will already know we have the best ones at the Single Solution anyway.
4) Don’t complain about people. Keep your guard up and make sure you don’t start gossiping or moaning about people who aren’t there. The party is a time for reflection and celebration, not to focus on negative things. Besides, word might get back to them and you’ll have a hard time explaining yourself.
5) Plan your way home. It’s easy to get caught up in the fun and forget how you are going to travel back home afterwards. You don’t want to miss the last train home or be too drunk to drive. So do check the train timetables in advance or arrange a lift with a friend. A taxi will be so much cheaper if you pre-book it and share.
Good luck,
