Choosing a Nickname
When you join our dating site you need a nickname
So what exactly is it and what should you use?
Your privacy is very important, so when you sign up to the Single Solution you can choose an anonymous Nickname . Yes, you do need to enter your real name and details too, but only we can see that. Everyone else will just know you by your Nickname.
It’s so important that you spend a little while thinking up a suitable choice for this as other users may judge you on it. Many people overlook this and just enter the first thing that comes into their heads….bad idea.
Of course, you can use your real first name, but never your whole name. The problem with using a first name is that it’s unlikely to be unique and you won’t be the first to choose it. In these cases we add the number to your name. So if you are Chris you might find you have to be Chris52. That’s not ideal if you are only 40!
When you attend our singles parties, you’ll get a name badge with your Nickname on too. This is to make sure that everyone can contact each other easily through the website after the event. Not everyone realises this which leads to much amusement when they have to walk around with “CuteElephant” or “MarksandSpencer” all night.
Good examples of Nicknames are those that express your personality or interests. I’d avoid wacky or nicknames that too clever.
So go for something along the lines of “KeepFitKaren”, “ShiningStar”, “Enigmatic” or perhaps “Dancefloor Diva”
