But are you maximising your opportunities?

I recently read how a well known Supermarket was going to start running speed dating events, on a smaller scale to what the Single Solution already do.
This is because they’d heard that so many people met just by shopping. Everyone has to visit them on a weekly, if not daily basis, so they really could be a great way to meet.

Here are my Dating Guru thoughts on this:

1) Do people need to be more aware of flirting opportunities in their daily life?

Absolutely, every day is a chance to flirt! Don’t think of it as a chore, but something to make your day brighter. Even if you just smile and say hello then you can make the other person’s day.

2) Are people good at flirting with people in supermarkets etc?

Some people are better than others. The best flirts are babies as they’ll smile at anyone to get their attention and you’ll see this in supermarkets when they are being pushed around.
So it’s something we can all do but have sometimes forgotten about. Many people would love the chance for a conversation but are too shy to start one themselves.

3) Can someone really find the love of their life in as supermarket?

You can find love anywhere and it’s easy to spot who is single in a supermarket – just look at the amount of food they are buying. If it’s one small basket they are probably just cooking for themselves. Supermarkets can provide lots of ways to break the ice and get conversations started. For example, you could comment about something in their trolley or ask about a recipe. Nobody likes to appear rude so most people will generally respond well if you ask for advice. You can even offer it yourself if you see someone staring at a packet or looking lost.

4) What tips do you have for someone looking to find love?

Be prepared to take a little risk. You won’t meet anybody if you don’t put yourself out there. Glam yourself up so you feel confident and look your best, then go out with a big friendly smile.
