How to Make an Amazing Last Impression
We all know how important it is to make a great first impression.
But how often do you think about making an amazing last one?
You’ll meet many people at a singles party, often in quick succession. So you’ll need to make an impact and then leave them wanting more.
The rules are exactly the same. Make sure you smile, engage eye contact, have a firm handshake
and do your best to show interest. The secret is to make them feel important and that you’ve really enjoyed spending time with them. Even if you haven’t and can’t wait to get away then there’s no harm in ending it on a high anyway.
Business cards are also extremely important as they are a fantastic “reminder” of you once you’ve gone. They are cheap to get made and a little investment will help you reap big rewards later. If it looks good they are much more likely to hang on to it. Include your contact details and a photo if possible. This will ensure they remember you the next day! At the very least, get an email address from them as most people are not as wary about giving this out as a phone number.
If you like someone, try and arrange a date there and then. Ask them what steps you can both take to make sure it happens. Whatever you do, exchange contact details or you’ll have no way of reaching them again.
If it’s quite late in the event then there’s no harm is suggesting you leave and go and find something to eat together. Obviously
this tactic won’t work if they have only just arrived, but it can often be the perfect way to end the evening.
Make sure you follow up the next day. Don’t play games waiting around to give the impression you are busy, but call them them
and invite them out.
