Why do so many celebrities feel the need to cheat on their partners?

Not a week goes by without yet another celebrity being exposed as cheating on his partner. If it’s not full blown cheating, it’s naked photos by text or saucy emails. So what makes famous, successful people with amazing wives and girlfriends feel they have to spoil things?

Should we accept that this is just part and parcel of being a celebrity?

Being cheated on is a horrible experience if it happens to you. It can shake up your world and stop you from trusting people ever again. If you get cheated on then it make you realise that what you thought was true was actually a lie. It’s a nasty, lonely feeling.

Recent statistics estimate that “60 percent of men and 40 percent of women will have an extramarital affair.” That’s a shocking statistic and the more celebrities that get caught will only lead to other men thinking it’s acceptable. They just want to be like their heros so follow the examples they might set.

So why is this so common with celebrities?

There can be various reasons that they might justify their behaviour:

1) Too many offers

Money, power and privilege can be dangerous to relationship. They are in the public eye so much that women throw themselves at them day in day out, so it gets harder and harder to turn them down. To make things worse, their friends or teammates actively encourage them to play the field.

2) Crave Attention and Affection

Many celebrities need to have their egos constantly stroked and badly want the attention. They could even argue that any publicity is good publicity.

3) They have earned it

Sometimes they believe that they can do what they want as the entitlement by the very nature of being a “celebrity.”

4) Above the Law

Celebrities may cheat because they feel that their spouse will stay with them “no matter what” just because of who they are and what they might risk losing. This is usually money and media attention.

5) Getting away with it. The problem with cheating is that it gets a little easier each time they do it.
